Mark-Anthony Turnage has been resident composer with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic, and Composer in Association with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

His opera, ‘The Silver Tassie’, won both the South Bank Show and Olivier Awards for Opera. ‘Anna Nicole’ has been staged at the Royal Opera House, Freiburg, Lille, Stockholm and Nuremberg.

Jon Carnac has played principal clarinet with all of London’s major symphony orchestras, has travelled the world and recorded with conductors including Solti, Haitink and Rattle.

Jon’s playing has been featured on over 100 film soundtracks including scores by John Williams, James Horner, Hans Zimmer and Jerry Goldsmith. He has appeared on albums with Sting, Peter Gabriel, mark Knopfler, Robbie Williams and Steve Wonder. In 2021 Jon gave the world premiere, with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s clarinet concertino, which was dedicated to him.

Junyan Chen, piano, has performed at prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall, KKL Lucerne, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Hall, Guangzhou Grand Theatre, Xiamen Concert Hall and Takatsuki Sendai Gekjo. She has performed with the Shanghai Philharmonic, XinZhu SO and the Brighton PO. She recently performed Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No 4 with Edward Gardner. She worked closely with Hans Abrahamsen for a performance of his piano concerto conducted by Frank Ollu.

Junyan strongly identifies with living composers who explore their cultural identity through music. The four composers in her album ‘It’s Time’- Fazil Say, Unsuk Chin, Sofia Gubaidulina and Eleanor Alberga- reflect their lives through the Turkish folk music, jazz, Russian poetry and African dance.
